The earlier the better especially during the busy (summer) season. We recommend giving us two to four weeks' notice, if possible. The more lead time you can give, the more likely we will be able to meet your preferred date and time. Keep in mind, weekends fill pretty quickly.
Contact your move coordinator at CK Movers as soon as you can if your move date has changed. He/she can make any changes to your reservation and discuss rescheduling. Keep in mind, we will have to check our schedule to see if we can accommodate your new date and time.
If you need to cancel your order, please call us as soon as possible to process your cancellation. The earlier the better as this allows us to fill up any openings.
Every move is different and the time it takes to complete your move varies a lot. It depends on the size of your home, the magnitude of your household, the distance apart between locations and the number of movers hired. For example, if you are moving a one bedroom, it may take up to three hours to complete your move. But this depends on whether or not there are stairs/steps and the distance from your front door to where your moving truck is parked. So, the time required to move your home really depends on many factors.
This again depends on the size of your move and the moving services you require. The best way to see how much your move will cost is to get a free online or phone estimate. The more information you provide your move coordinator, the more accurate of a quote you will receive. Keep in mind, this is just a quote.

Many moving companies today require that you pay a deposit in order to book your move. A deposit is rather a typical policy for most moving companies. Here at CK Movers, a deposit is not required to book with us.
There is always a minimum number of hours in the moving industry which mainly applies to local moves. CK Movers require a minimum of two hours. Why? Because it makes it economically feasible to perform a quality service. Even if your move takes less than two hours you are still required to pay the two-hour minimum. After the two-hour minimum, we charge in 30 minutes increments.
A travel fee is charged for any distances over 30 miles.
Moving is not a cheap service and thus you have to be aware of all moving charges including the hidden ones. CK Movers charge an hourly rate and payment is due after the job is complete. If there are any additional charges, your move coordinator will be sure to let you know. The acceptable forms of payment are Cash, Debit, Credit, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay and Cash App.
At this time, we do not offer packing and unpacking services.
At this time, we do not provide packing supplies. It is the customer's responsibility to purchase all and any packing supplies needed.
CK Movers provide moving equipment at no additional charge to you. These include, moving blankets, dollies, ratchet tie-downs, moving straps and hand tools. However, moving blankets and ratchet tie-downs are not provided for loading only moves.
CK Movers offer the Industry Standard, which is the Limited Liability Protection in case an item gets damaged. This is a basic coverage required by law and doesn’t cost you anything. Under the Limited Liability, CK Movers is responsible for 60 cents per pound per item for an interstate move. Feel free to purchase additional coverage from a third party if you so desire.
